For the past ten years we have been using
charity: water as a platform for teaching our students about using the skill of empathy to be contributors to a global community. Our water campaigns have been eye-opening for kids. This summer, we're "going the extra mile." We want to model what it means to be strong women, teachers, and mothers who work to be changemakers in our world.

The water crisis affects 663 million people. It is often the burden for women and young girls to collect water for their families. They can spend 4 hours or more a day walking to collect water filled with disease and parasites. The tremendous amounts of time spent collecting water means no time for school or jobs. Having the gift of clean water can change all this.

This summer we are campaigning on our bikes and have set out to ride the equivalent elevation to Mt. Everest. This is called an Everesting, which means riding 29,029 feet of elevation gain in a single ride. For us, this will be about 12 trips to the top of Casper Mountain and back down totaling 155+ miles! Through this Everesting we hope that by doing something a little crazy more people will become aware of the water crisis and decide to do something about it.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
