3/4 of a billion people in the world don't have access to clean water— Let's do something about it.

Living in a developed country, it's really easy to forget how lucky we have it. Every day we see people on the news struggling in one way or another, but we're so detached; it's easy to say "that's horrible" and never think about it again. For a lot of us we lose the ability to sympathize and without that, we lose the motivation to get up and help others. Personally, I've spent a fair part of this past year wondering why I don't try to help others more. Thankfully, organizations such as charity: water exist.

charity: water brings clean water to those who need it, and 100% of their donations go to helping install clean water projects in developing countries. If you'd like to wish me a happy birthday, or come celebrate with me, please consider first donating to my campaign. Any amount you can pledge would mean a lot to me, but more importantly, it'll mean a lot to any one of the 750 million people living without access to the most basic of needs.

Frequently this past year, I would find myself on the last paragraph of a story or news article, not truly impacted by the situation. For those of you on the verge of simply saying "that's horrible" and heading out, at the least think about giving the money you'd spend on a drink during the day to somebody else who needs it.
