This year, please don't wish me a happy birthday. A birthday is just another day, one that many of us wrongly spend in exuberance. Why is it that out in the world there is poverty past anything we can imagine, but nobody ever does anything for those in need? Why is it that many of us go for days, weeks, months, without the thought of the impoverished crossing our minds? And even when we want to do something, what can we do, how can we show the world out there that we want to genuinely help, and not with our prayers and moments of silence but with our actions?

That's why I'm using my birthday as a Charity Water campaign. Charity Water puts 100% of its donations towards making sure everybody has clean water. So If you were going to wish me a happy birthday or buy me a present, please, don't. Instead, donate to this campaign to bring clean water to those who need it. My birthday wish this year is to waste no money on myself and to do something good for those who need it, who deserve it.
