Howdy!

On February 14, 2011, I'm turning 30!!

At first, this seemed surreal, even daunting.

But a few months back, I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. Why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water.

So I've decided to celebrate my birthday like never before.

While there will be a weekend of really fun events in San Francisco that I'd love for you to join the weekend of 2/11/11 through 2/13/11 - to which I will be requesting percentages of the bar to go to Charity:Water's missions as well - I've also decided to additionally dedicate my birthday through a donation campaign so that we really have something to celebrate!!! (Invites to the joint parties will be posted here and are coming soon.)

I've always believed in positive change and that one person CAN and DOES make a difference. I know and have seen this difference occur. My only wish is for us to come together and make the world a better place together. And I'd love for that shared mission to start here. Please help.

I'm asking for $30 from everyone I know - and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth.

My goal is to raise at least $5,000 by my birthday, February 14, 2011 - I've already purchased a $200 ticket to support the cause at Charity:Water's Charity ball http://www.charitywater.org/charityball/ and have also made a donation in kind.

Please consider helping me. Together, I know that we can save lives.
