Why Solomon Reda is fundraising for clean water

For my 25th birthday, my generous Facebook network raised $1400 towards a water tap project in Cyili, Rwanda. As a result, a community of 290 people now have easy access to clean and safe drinking water. Cheers to that.

With the help of new friends I’ve made, and the now more successful friends from two years ago, I’d like to continue this tradition for my 27th.

To refresh your memory, and ideally someones palate - diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all form of violence. 43% of victims are children under 5. All because of a lack of clean water. Meanwhile we celebrate in champagne showers when the Warriors win a basketball game (RIP that whole outfit).

I was one generation away from being raised in a similar environment. But thanks to a different community and amazing parents, my childhood was full of cake, literally. Lets be that community for someone else.
