Why Emily Crawford is fundraising for clean water

For women in the Sahel, the first step out of poverty begins with clean water. We can help!

We walk once, so they don't ever have to walk again.

We have raised over $3800 in our first two annual Walks For Water, when we walked from the Forum entrance of the MKT trail to Cooper's Landing.

That's 14 miles of simulating what HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of women and children do each and everyday!

Sounds rough, right? Well, imagine doing it without clean water.

If you'd like to walk with us on October 18th for our 3rd annual Walk For Water in Columbia, MO, it is not too late! Details to follow. Get updates at https://www.facebook.com/walkforwatercomo/info

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it is the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this. Girls do not get to go to school. Women end up with deformed spines from carrying heavy loads of water.

No one should be without clean water. So, what can I do?

Our mission is to raise $5000 for water. Why? This is the amount of money that it takes for one village of 250 people to have clean water.

We want every step to matter. If you cannot walk this year, you can help by donating and/or sharing this link with everyone you know.

Michelle Golden's birthday is October 6th. For her 41st birthday, she asks that you please donate to this campaign instead of giving her gifts. Her birthday wish is to build a well!

The best part: Charity: water is a four-star charity. 100% of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll be able to see the communities we've impacted.

I hope you'll walk alongside us by donating to our campaign!
