Hey friends! We will be running the Berlin Marathon this year to raise funds for Charity:Water's projects in Madagascar! £7,000 means access to clean water for 233 people. Let's make it happen :)

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. Even the water in our toilets is clean! Yet, 771 million people in the world live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people globally.

Access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and children.

For us, water is not even an after-thought. For many people, the struggle for clean water is a matter of daily survival, consuming their well-being, time and development.

Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. To put this into perspective - every single day, approx 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Water is a binary problem. Either it is clean to drink, or it is not. The global water crisis can be addressed within our lifetime. Solutions are simple, cost-effective and wide-ranging - tailored to local needs. Impact is for the long-run, as communities are involved in the development & maintenance of all water projects.

Full transparency: 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects in Madagascar. When they’re complete, charity: water will send photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community helped and find out about the positive impact you've made through your contributions!

meant severe famine for many Malagasy people
