Nearly four years ago, I started my first Charity Water birthday campaign and exceeded my target. This year, I'm doubling my target to $2,000. Leading up to my birthday on March 6, I'm asking that my family, friends, and colleagues donate $28 (a dollar for each year of life) to contribute to the campaign instead of spending the $$ on birthday gifts, dinners, or drinks. $2,000 will be enough to provide 66 people with access to clean drinking water in communities around the world. Any donations in excess of my target will provide even more people with clean water.

What is a 'Life Water Lion'? Translated (loosely) to Turkish, it means Cansu Arslan. Do I love it? No. But is it cool and interesting? Also no. However, it is somewhat fitting for my campaign name.

Water conservation isn't my calling just because it's in my name; I've been yelling at family members to turn off the faucet while brushing their teeth since I can remember. I have always been passionate about reducing irresponsible water usage and providing clean water to communities in need.
