goal
Today 703 million people in the world live without clean water, thats 1 in 10 of all people worldwide. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. On average, women and children in developing countries walk 3.7 miles and carry 5 gallons everyday day to bring water home to their families.
With charity: water every $40 I raise will provide a lifetime of clean water to one person. 100% of every dollar you donate will go directly to providing the life-changing gift of clean water where it’s needed most. charity: water will even report back with details of where your money went.
For added incentive I've decided for each $40 raised during this September fundraiser I will run 3.7 miles. Thats about 150 meters for each dollar raised.
Would love to help 100 people by raising $4,000
Thank you to everyone who donated! We raised a total of $1,225, which is enough to help about 30 people. This means I will be running 114 miles to pay you all back. Finished the first run earlier today, and have my progress updated on my website. You can view and follow my progress at: bernardkintzing.com/charity-water.
