Why we are fundraising for clean water

Part of what Annie and I share is an interest in being engaged and curious contributors to our community, locally and globally. At our high school, Pace Academy, we traveled the world through their global leaders program which cultivated a desire within us to be ethical, empathetic, innovative, and culturally aware citizens. This experience, combined with our faith, has resulted in our “Wedding Well” which we invite you to participate in to honor our new life together.

703 million people are living in the world without clean water. Many people walk miles every day, in treacherous conditions and extreme heat, just to access water that makes them sick or worse. We saw this while studying in Malawi and Ghana and hear about it regularly from our fellow scholar, Lex, who is currently in the Peace Corps in Zambia and walking daily for his water.

Every $40 raised will provide a lifetime of clean water to one person. Our goal is $11,125 (our wedding date!). 100% of every dollar you donate will go directly to charity water's local partners who will work to provide the life-changing gift of clean water for their communities. Charity Water will even report back with details of specifically where your money went and how it’s helping.
