In high school, we had to choose an issue that we were drawn to. I was compelled by the issue of lack of clean water in certain areas of the world. We use it for so many things - showering, washing fruits, misting your pet snail - yet don't realize that there are people who don't have clean water to drink, let alone do all these things with it. There are a lot of complex social issues in this world and sometimes I'm overwhelmed by where to give and if it would even make an impact. The issue of clean water however, became a pressing concern of mine. Our bodies are 70% water and can't survive without it. Why is clean water a privelage when it should be a right? That's why I've dedicated my birthday to this campaign. The best part is that 100% of the proceeds will go to making clean water accessible to everyone! Charity:water is much more eloquent than I, so below is more information regarding my campaign and the issue of clean water.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
