There are 800 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!

My birthday is almost here (tomorrow, in fact). I don't usually make a public thing of my birthday, but this one is a rather round number, and I am thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year.

I know that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

The organization charity:water suggests that I ask everyone I know to donate my age in dollars in honor of my birthday, but since I'm turning a rather large number of years, I'd rather let you decide if and what you'd like to give!

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
