Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's help change that!
My birthday is almost here. Normally I don't do much to celebrate, but that doesn't mean I can't use it for some good. There are thousands of kids every year that don't live to see their 5th birthday due to lack of access to clean water. If we woke up tomorrow and brown, cloudy, sewage-filled water came out of our faucets, bathtubs, and drinking fountains, we'd throw a fit and probably riot in the streets. That's everyday life for kids in 3rd world countries. 100% of donations to Charity: Water go directly to the field to fund water projects. Not 99%,
100%!
So if you can spare it, (I know some can't) please use the occasion of my no longer being a 20 something to help provide clean water to people that are literally drinking poop laced water every day. I'll spare you the Starbucks analogy, but if you can forgo whatever small personal indulgence you usually spend your pocket change on, and instead donate it, I promise that afterward, you'll feel better about yourself and also be happier. If that doesn't happen, I'll personally come to your house and make you pancakes. Happy birthday to me, and hopefully happy birthday to some kid in Ghana who would't have one otherwise.
Happy Birthday.
Love,
Sasha and Brandon
