What's the most direct and impactful way to share this?
Have you seen the videos? Despair as you see children carrying jerry cans of water from a dirty hole shared with animals...rejoice after a well has been dug to priovide clean water...
Have you read the statistics? 1/6 of the planet without access to clean water? 1 billion people. 1,000,000,000. Live Aid, USA for Africa, all of the other government- and celebrity-sponsored huminatiran aid...none have the same impact against disease and infant mortality as access to clean drinking water.
How much water have you used today? Did you shower? Do laundry? Boil water? Flush a toilet? Water the houseplants? Brush your teeth? Fill the pet's bowl? Wash dishes? Or *GASP* drink it?
$5000 digs a well, educates a village on sanitation, and trains those same people on how to maintain their new well.
Can we get 1/10 of the way there? $500?
In perspective: That's 1000 vending machine sodas. 100 lattes from Starbucks. 10 date nights. 1 Tricked-out XBOX 360 with Kinect and a game thrown in for good measure.
Collectively, can we sacrifice just that much??
