When we started charity: water 3 years ago, our mission was simple. We thought everyone should have clean water to drink.
So this year, I'm giving up my 34th birthday so children around the world can have more birthdays. Instead of asking for gifts, I'm asking for $34 or more from everyone I know. It's not going to me, though. 100% of the donations will go to build freshwater wells for people in developing nations.
My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts I don't need; it's to give clean and safe drinking water to the billion living without it.
