John 4:10
Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."
I can imagine people making a trek out to the nearest well and possibly meeting Jesus there just as the Samaritan woman did. And now light can overflow through even a downtrodden place like Samaria. What a beautiful sight that would be!
So on August 23, I'm turning 21 years old and I don't really need anything. I have wonderful family and friends that treat me with more love than I have ever deserved. So instead of asking for gifts, I'm asking you for $21. All of it is going to build freshwater wells for people in developing nations.
A billion people in the world are living without clean water - but how much are they really living? Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 45,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won't, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.
Let's give clean and safe drinking water to some of the billion living without it. My prayers are that they would come to know or experience God's love. I want to make my birthday matter this year.
Thanks everyone!!
Love, Sarah
