This year, I'm participating in the New York City Marathon to support charity: water in their mission to bring safe & clean drinking water to millions of people.

Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet the reality is stark:

- Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
- Women and girls around the world spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day.

This lack of clean water leads to health issues, hinders socio-economic development, and disproportionately affects women and girls who bear the primary responsibility for water collection.
