Greetings!
This fall, in our 3rd grade ELA curriculum, we have explored how reading can give us power, and to what lengths people will go to attain access to books. My students have read about people in Chad, Afghanistan, and remote places in our own country where books and education are not readily available.
My daughter, Ali, has volunteered at charity: water for some time now. Like education, clean water, easily obtained, is something we take for granted every day.
I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. (It's a BUMMER that I'm no longer in my 20's...but give whatever you can.) Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
