There are 800 million people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand Filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

My time flying around the world as a Marine aviator has given me the opportunity to witness how some of the worlds poorest people are trying to survive. A few years ago a good friend educated me on one of the most dire situations facing the world is a lack of clean drinking water. The numbers are staggering and they continue to grow.

It has become a personal mission of mine to get involved and to help make a positive difference with the world's lack of clean drinking water. I have made an ambitious personal goal to help bring water to 1 million people during my lifetime. I plan to devote the majority of my charitable donations of time, money and energy to this goal but to achieve it I will need the help of many others.

Just as the journey of a thousand miles begins with the one step; the journey to bring water to 1 million people begins with the first dollar donated and the first campaign launched. This campaign is my first step to inspire the help of others-the help from YOU.
