John Wayne Kilgore was a man who's heart was bigger than most. He gave through example and loved on many that others deemed as "unloveable" He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, in-law, friend, pastor, employer and the list goes on and on. When I met John, I was received with love, acceptance and the warm of my Heavenly Father's heart. I was going through a difficult time of feeling unaccepted and broken. He made me feel like I was the best thing for Ben and the one God has been saving for his son. On February 12, 2008, John went to be the Lord and we have never been the same. He left behind an incredible legacy and example to all who knew him or knew of him.
On June 20, 2009, Ben, John's youngest son, and I got married. Everyday I love Ben more and more and everyday, I get to know John more and more. They are so much alike and I count myself the luckiest girl in the world. John Kilgore has forever changed my life and I know he has done the same for many others.
ONE IN SIX PEOPLE ON THE PLANET DON'T HAVE
ACCESS TO SAFE, CLEAN DRINKING WATER.
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Many people in the developing world, usually women and children, walk more than three hours every day to fetch water that is likely to make them sick. Those hours are crucial, preventing many from working or attending school. Additionally, collecting water puts them at greater risk of sexual harassment and assault. Children are especially vulnerable to the consequences of unsafe water. Of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation, 90% are children under 5 years old.
Water brings life. John brought life to everyone around him. He was refreshing and loved the things of this earth. His profession provided beauty through nature. The beauty would have never been seen, had water not been available.
What a wonderful way to honor John Kilgore and give to the forgotten and without. He would want everyone to experience the beauty of nature, the satisfaction of health and the love that we experience everyday through knowing our God. I urge you to give back. Any amount is great...$5, $10, $15. No amount is too small.
The Kilgore family thanks you and so do the many people this project will help and heal.
All our love,
Ben and Noelle Kilgore
