What is Charity: Water and what do they do?
charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
100% of the money donated to charity : water brings clean water to people in need. Private donors cover our operating costs, so you can give knowing your whole gift will help bring clean water.
Who am I?
My name is Nisha Varghese. I am a twenty-seven -year-old (turn 28 on March 25th ) living in South Africa. I am raising money for charity: water and awareness about the water crisis because I believe that when we give people access to clean water we give more than water because clean water gives health, an opportunity at an education and most importantly access to clean water gives people back the priceless gift of time (the time women spend collecting water they can spend with their families, starting a business or even going back to school).
Did you know: 663 million people live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people.
$30 = clean water for one person and $10 000 is the average cost of one water project. My goal is to raise $28 000 for charity: water in honour of my 28th year of life. If 1 000 people donated $28 each I would reach my goal today.
