Sure, I like getting gifts. But they're only "wants". I have everything I need. Instead of getting wants, I can give to the kids of the world, and give them their needs.
So instead of giving me a gift, and fulfilling my wants, please consider donating to a water fund. Give people not wants, but needs.
These people walk many hours to go to a dirty water hole, then many hours back, lugging a heavy bucket of water. When they get back from the many-hours trip, the water they bring back is not clean but is full of germs and disease. So, they walk hours just to get water that has a chance of killing them and their family.
If you donate to my fundraising campaign, we can help build a clean water well for people who don't have it. Even just $20 can give one person clean water and change their life forever.
Last year for my birthday campaign, with your help, we raised $880! This year I am setting a goal of $1000. Would you please consider contributing however much you would usually spend for a gift?
please note: Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.
