I live just outside Seattle and I am SURROUNDED by water. There are almost 800 Billion gallons in Lake Washington alone.
In 2012, we had 44 inches of rain in Bellevue. We sometimes complain about the rain, but that is a hella lot of FREE fresh water.
But that isn't the case around the world. Lots of people are force to live with stuff that really can't be called "water". So for my birthday, I'm asking that you skip the gifts and coffees and help me to raise money to bring fresh water to a developing country. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects, and charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
These guys are the real deal. I have been to a presentation by the founder, Scott Harrison and he blew me away. If you can I would love to raise some money to help make this a little better world.
