Each year our family makes a Christmas Card video to share with our friends and family. We have a lot of fun doing this. We also have been able to raise awareness and a little money for Charity:Water.

This year, we decided as a family to do something a little different to help someone in need at Christmas as well as raise as much as we can for Charity:Water. 

There really is nothing like being home for the holidays — unfortunately, there are many in our communities around the country who don’t have a place to call home. We thought we’d build one for someone.

So we built this tiny home —for the holidays— and we’d like to give it away to an individual or family so they can have a home for the holidays too. 

This house has a full functioning kitchen, bathroom, sleeping loft, and a surprisingly comfortable, cozy, living space for a few people.  And it’s built on a trailer with RV hookups so you can take it and park it wherever you want.

We’re asking you, our awesome friends, to nominate someone you know, who could really use this home for the holidays, someone we could give this to — from our family to theirs. 

How this works:

1. Donate $20 or more to Charity:Water (this is your entry) — 100% of your donation goes to clean water initiatives.

2. Submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) on who you think should receive this house and why. Email it to: tinyhomefortheholidays@gmail.com Be sure to use the same name on your essay as you used for the Charity:Water donation so we know you donated. All entries must be submitted by December 18th, 2015 so our Judges can choose who will receive the tiny home. Also, If you don’t know someone who needs this home for the Holidays and won’t be nominating someone, please help our Family out by donating to Charity:Water anyway. We would really appreciate it!

3. Just before Christmas 2015 we’ll announce the recipient of the tiny home.

Please help us find a home, for this home, for the holidays as well as provide clean water for our brothers and sisters around the world who are in need.

Full Rules and Regulations:

1. Entry Fee: Donate $20 or more to Charity:Water
2. Nominate: Email an essay (500 words or less) of your nominee (who you think should receive this tiny home) to tinyhomefortheholidays@gmail.com remember to use the same name as you use for your Charity:Water donation as well as your address, and telephone number. Please mention the location of your nominee as well.
3. Eligibility: The submitter will not receive the tiny home. The tiny home will go to the person they nominate if chosen. Must be within the continental United States to be considered.
4. Judges: The judges will be family and friends of the Slade Family. They will determine who will receive the tiny home. Each submission will be read and evaluated properly in order to best determine the recipient of the tiny home.
5. Deadline: The deadline for entries is December 18, 2015.
6. Announcement of recipient: The recipient of the tiny home will be announced on or before December 25, 2015
7. Voids: Offer void where prohibited.
8. Description of the property title: The recipient will receive the title to the trailer that the tiny home is built on.
9. Delivery: Delivery will be limited to the continental United States. Delivery of the tiny home will be as soon as possible after the recipient is announced.
10. Warranty: The recipient will receive the tiny home “As Is”. There will be no warranty or further work on the tiny home after it is delivered.
