God has blessed me with 25 years of life. At the anniversary of each year of life, I get stuff. People who love, or just like, me go out of their way to spend money and time to give me a gift. I appreciate each and every present I get. But I've reached a point where God has convicted me of something.

There are a lot of kids out there who don't reach 25 years of age and the reason isn't complex. They just don't have clean water. You can walk 20 feet in your house to a faucet and get it. These kids just die and it hurts me to think about it.

Fortunately, we have the chance to change that. Groups like Charity:Water provide opportunities to give clean drinking water to poor people around the world. Every dime of the donations go to funding well and filtration projects. Just $20 gives a person clean drinking water for 20 years.


So this year, I'm donating my birthday to charity. Instead of giving me a gift, I would like you to donate to this cause. If you wouldn't normally give me a gift, I hope you would still consider giving to charity. Every dollar you give helps save lives. I don't want any presents. I want you to have a chance to bless other peoples lives, and that's enough for my 25th birthday.
