We'd like to invite you to spend a few minutes looking through this website - you'll likely be shocked by the facts and blessed by the stories as we have been. In case you don't have the time, I'd like to leave you with a few facts that struck us:

One in eight people on the planet drinks water that's likely to make them sick. The water crisis and poverty go hand-in-hand.

Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war

90% of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are to children under five years old. Many of these diseases are preventable. The UN predicts that one tenth of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply and sanitation

On average, $20 can give one person access to clean drinking water, but we're hoping to raise $5000 - the average cost for one water supply project. It will help one entire community, and approx. 250 people.

Please consider these facts, and give freely and generously. If you don't feel as though you can give to both this charity as well as contribute to a gift for our wedding, we'd like to urge you to give to this charity alone. Knowing that we have helped even just one person have access to clean drinking water is something we can treasure far longer than anything money can buy.
