This Friday I will turn 40 years old!!

Five years ago, on my 35th birthday I gave up my birthday and asked friends if they'd consider donating $35 to help me fund a clean water project somewhere on this planet. Together we raised over $10,000 and helped 4 communities and 1,648 people in Ethiopia experience sustained clean water for years to come.

One in nine people don't have access to the most basic of human needs-- clean water. It's hard to fathom about 663 million people living without something so basic that we take for granted every day. Every day, about 1,400 kids die from water related illnesses before they reach their 5th birthday.

A little more than a year ago, my family & I traveled to Malawi Africa to see first hand the work of charity: water and to spend time with people who live without access to clean water.

For my 40th birthday-- instead of gifts or a party-- I'm hoping you'll consider supporting my birthday campaign to help build these types of projects for real people in real need.

No gift is too small and I can promise you your money will be well spent.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
