On August 19 I turn 36, and this year my birthday wish is for water!
It's unbelievable that 1 billion people in the world today don't have access to clean water.
Think about spending a day without a fresh drink of water (much less our daily coffee fix!), a day without a shower, or a bath, or any means to clean yourself. Then think about that day after day, and having to walk for hours just to carry back heavy jugs of water that isn't even clean or sanitary.
Forgetting your morning latte, the need for clean water is basic. And this idea is so simple:
This year I'm asking everyone I know to give my age in dollars ($36!), so we can all help 250 people get access to clean, fresh water. Even $20 can give one person access, and 100% of your donation goes direct to the water project.
And if you can't give this time, please at least help to raise awareness by posting, tweeting, emailing or telling someone you know about clean water.
