Why Mark Guay is fundraising for clean water

Every day, 1000+ kids walk 24/7 to get dirty diseased drinking water and want to go to school. Let's get em there.

Well it’s happened…I’m finding gray hairs in my beard and turning 30. And I’d like to celebrate with a toast if that’s okay with you. But not the kind of toast we’re used to.

I’d like you to raise a glass of water and cheers with me as we bring clean drinking water to children who instead of going to school, spend school hours walking back and forth to get dirty and diseased drinking water for their family.

What a waste of precious time.

As a teacher, I’ve watched students pick up a book and dig into their creativity to grow into a whole new being. With your help, we can bring clean drinking water to these children and help them grow into the remarkable adults they want to be — helping to break the poverty cycle.

YOU HAVE THREE OPTIONS TO HELP:

1. The NO-COST solution: the next time you have a glass of water with someone else (or classmate), just tell them about Charity : Water and use it as a conversation piece. FYI: I’ve been known to be a match-maker (right, Carlen and Alan?).

2. Donate w/ me and donate an amount you feel comfortable with :)

3. Another NO-COST solution for my financially struggling students (we’ve all been there!): Tweet and share this website on social media.

*To my fellow teachers out there: This whole idea came out of a student project called 20% time where students create an entrepreneurial-like project using 20% of class time. I'm joining them and this is my 20% project. Look up #20time to see how you too can get your students thinking like entrepreneurs

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.

Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
