A few days ago I turned 35.

These 35 years of my life have been wonderful and I am grateful for everything that has happened to me. I have a wonderful loving husband that challenges me and 3 beautiful children that give me more love and inspiration than I could have ever imagined. I admire the way they are curious and caring for what is around them. I watch them play or see them laugh and I feel completely fulfilled. I love to show them the beauty of different cultures and countries and make them become openminded and caring human beings. Watching them makes me realize what a magic time your childhood is.

But then I found out that millions of people don't even live to see their fifth birthdays! And why? Because they don't have access to clean, safe water.

So I'm celebrating my birthday being conscious about how lucky we all are.

I'm asking for $ 35 from everyone I know -- and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll be able to see the communities we've helped!

My goal is to raise $ 3.500,- with my birthday.
