In my travels I've personally experienced the truth of what these folks are saying about how so many people in this world do not have one of our most basic things -- POTABLE (clean) water.
When my girls were young teenagers I started donating to an NGO (non-governmental agency) that specifically put wells into communities that had never before had such a luxury. Each time our donations totalled the amount required to drill a well in a community we were sent a letter stating into which community "we" had just brought a well. WHAT A FEELING!!!
Things changed. I started travelling the world and being of no fixed address and I stopped donating.
Then a couple of years ago I learned about charity: water, thanks to FaceBook (of which I'm not an avid user, but I do frequently say: God bless FaceBook :-).
This January, 2012, I started a new campaign in my business, www.mljcoaching.com, by sending out really nice-looking birthday cards, via www.sendoutcards.com/MLJCoaching.
Tonight, March 22, 2012, I opened an e-mail from charity: water and clicked the link ... and watching the video on their homepage -- www.charitywater.org ... I had this "idea" come to me.
If you're one of my clients you know that the next step, on receiving an idea is to ask yourself, and so I did ...
IS THIS SOMETHING I WANT TO DO?
DECISION? Yes.
And so now I've done it. With every birthday card I send out to family members and to all of my clients, I'm making a donation of $25 in that person's name.
