On March 25, I turn 26. And I have a million things to be grateful for - I'm surrounded by people I love, I get to co-captain a business, I have food in my belly, and a roof over my head. I don't need anything else.

In my 26 years, I've never had to walk miles with gallons of water on my head (like my Mom did back in the day), or simply have to drink water that is knowingly filled with all kinds of nasty.

So this year, I'm giving up my birthday. I have enough "things", so instead of buying me a gift or even a birthday beer, I ask that you put the money here instead. $5. $26. It doesn't matter how much. No one's gonna judge you if you don't give. But I will judge you if you do - and I mean that in the omg-im-gonna-give-you-a-giant-bun-hug-the-next-time-i-see-your-awesome-face way.

I know a $5000 goal is pretty hefty, and I'm pretty certain I won't reach that goal by the end of the month. But that amount would fund an entire well - giving a whole community water. That would be so badass.
