It is easy to sit back and not give anything of ourselves to those in need; be it our time, our money, our attention, or even just our acknowledgment that most of us have everything we could ever imagine while millions do not even have basic necessities we take for granted.

Almost one BILLION people across the world do not have access to clean drinking water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Imagine missing work or school to walk 5 miles to a muddy puddle shared by your neighbors, animals, and the rest of the people in your city to collect dirty water for your family. The average American uses 150 gallons of water per day to clean, cook, and drink. An average person in a developing nation struggles to find 5 gallons.

Luckily, Scott Harrison and the world class team of charity:water have taken on the challenge to solve the world water crisis and they are letting us help! Through the genius of the charity:water model, together we can sponsor a well and bring clean drinking water for 250+ people we have never met for as little as $5,000. And that is my goal. $5,000 = 1 village well!

In order to keep the circle of giving moving forward, I will donate one hour of my time to volunteer work/community service for every $100 donated to the Give2Give campaign. If you are able to donate as much as $1, give me suggestions as to where you would like to see me serve my hours. If you are able to donate $100 or more, you can choose where and for what cause I do my community service. Yes Mom, that means you can make me come do community service in Canton, Ohio! If you are interested, you can also help me take it one step further and keep the giving going by donating your time and joining me for your hour of community service.
