This year I'm turning 18 and am, once again, giving up my birthday for clean water. Last year I exceeded my goal by nearly $1,200, maybe I can do even better this year?

Charity: water has been a huge part of my life over the past few years: I've interned, campaigned, and been featured on their World Water Day profiles. This organization has changed my life in many different ways; most importantly, it has helped me see what I want to do with my life as I get older.

Millions of people around the world don't have access to clean water, and millions of children don't live to see even their fifth birthday due to the lack of clean water. We can help change that.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
