In just a few short months, I will be celebrating my 21st birthday! I have decided to do something a little bit different this year. In lieu of birthday gifts or celebratory drinks, I would like to buy drinks for those who need it most.

That's why I am pledging my 21st birthday to charity: water!

Most of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- and often take that privilege for granted.

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

For every $30 raised, we can help one person get clean water for the rest of their lives! This year as I turn 21, my goal is to fundraise $630- that will get 21 people clean water for life!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
