"We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone."
Hi!
Guess what? My birthday is coming soon. Well, to be honest, I have a few wishes: some little, some larger, some came already true, some will soon enough. Indeed my biggest one cannot be fulfilled. That's reality. Reality is also, I don't want to spend another year of my life grieving and complaining how unfair it is or how unhappy I am because of unpossible dream.
Someone said "thankfulness is the beginning of happiness". So for a change, I want to be grateful and thankful for what I have. I have healthy loving family and friends. Besides, I have two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, so I can do what I love to do; I can go almost everywhere; I can read or I can see beautiful people and places - simply the beauty surrounding me; I can hear my children and loved ones laughing, I can listen to wonderful masterpieces of music... Materialistic I don't have everything, but I have enough, however it wasn't always that way.
As a child I lived in Poland. After my parent's divorce, I was raised only by my mother in a relative poor conditions. We had a flat in a first floor without water connection, so we had to bring the water from an external pump. For us children, the pump area was a great playground especially in the winter - our own little ice rink. We too had lots of fun a few years later while the residents digged by themselves around our block and put waterpipes. Nevertheless, I remember the day (I was about 10) and I will never forget what I felt as I could use the water tap at home for the first time. The water flowed, flowed, flowed... so did the tears of gladness and relief.
That's why the @charitywater has awoken my interest. I usually do not donate, cause there are people around me which need support too, so I help them u.a. with money. This time I exceptional I decided to do something different and I created this birthday campaing.
I know I am a stranger for you, so you don't feel like giving a birthday gift to me, but maybe you have a wish to help someone and you do not know how? Maybe you know someone who would donate? It could be a nice possibility. Let it be 1 or 5 dollars - each one counts. Spread the word.
I am aware "we can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone."
You can lay in the evening in your bed and review your day thinking: "Good deed? I did!"
(Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.)

I'm asking for my age in dollars (or what you can give) from everyone I know (or don't). Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
