Somehow, I have managed to accept that my undergraduate at Indiana University is soon coming to an end. But with every end, there is a new beginning. (:
With graduation not too far down the road, I am standing as a different person than I was entering my dorm room with nervousness and excitement. I am happy to climb the ladder that will begin after I reach the mountain top with my fellow classmates.
More importantly, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my parents. Thank you Mama and Papa for teaching me the value of an education and for giving me the opportunity to discover myself. Despite the ups and downs of the experiences I have gained during my undergraduate career, I now understand the value of the statement you reiterate passionately: you are a student for life. I feel powerful with the one treasure that no one can take away from me and that is my education.
In light of such a mind-boggling moment of life, I hope you will join me in not only celebrating the graduating seniors of 2014, but also in furthering this wonderful effort to provide opportunities for sustainable water solutions, gender equality for education, and transforming the future for the better.
After all, we act on what we learn: the circle of life.
