On Sept 13th, I participated in the Malibu Triathlon while raising money for an amazing organization called charity:water. charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
Having visited Rwanda in 2007, I saw firsthand just a few of the 1 billion people on the planet that don't have access to clean and safe drinking water. I'm hoping to return to Rwanda soon, but in the meantime I want to help provide water to those most in need.
The triathlon consists of a ½ mile ocean swim, 18 mile bike, and 4 mile run - that's 22.5 miles of sweating, pushing, giving everything I've got. I hope to raise $100 per mile or $2250 which would provide clean drinking water to 112 people for 20 years!
Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to water projects, and each donation is "proved" using Google Earth when projects are complete.
