Because clean water changes everything.
Many people in Rwanda walk 6 miles, uphill, every day to bring water to their families. Water that is unfiltered from a river they share with other villages and all the creatures in between. Water that will make them sick.
But a clean water system could change this. The country of Rwanda is deeply scarred but healing, and their economy is improving. One clean water system will reach 40,000 people with safe drinking water.
In America, we water our lawns, flush toilets, and build water parks without a second thought. I want to be more mindful of how I use the resources we've been blessed with.
$50 gives one person clean water for life. That's a couple of coffees, one dinner out, a new pair of jeans. And you'll save a person's life.
