For my birthdays, I don’t usually ask for anything, but this year I’m making an exception. I’m asking my friends and family to donate to "charity: water" and help give clean water to people who don't have it.

After being thankful for another healthy year, I sometimes wonder what it would've been like if I weren't adopted 30 years ago, and how much my health/life may have been different than here in the States. So recently learning how many kids around the world don't live to see their 5th birthday due to water-related illnesses, and how clean water can make all the difference in the world to these kids, improve the lives of their mothers and their towns, made me want to make a difference -- and made me want to invite others to join in.

Together, we can help bring solutions like spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

My goal for this campaign is $1111, to symbolize my birthday on 11/11.

For about the cost of two movie tickets, someone can have clean water for a lifetime -- and while that movie will end in a couple of hours, $20 to charity: water can effect a person's entire life. Not only that, but, 100% of every dollar you donate to this campaign goes towards clean water projects, because operating costs are funded separately through private donors. So again: 100% of all public donations will go directly to people in need!
