In my world, $29 is one bottle of wine. It's a Wed afternoon Happy Hour tab. It's not even a decent ticket to an M's game, a Hawks' game, a UW game, or 18 holes of golf. Knowing that $20 can provide clean water for 20 years to another human, who's likely currently drinking mud and having to walk 2-3 hrs just to obtain it, inspires me on how much impact we can have, if we are willing.
So this year (technically next May), I'm giving up my Bday. I don't expect gifts anymore anyways, but I like this idea. Donate $29 for my 29th Bday, and let's provide clean water for 250 people for the next 20 years. 250 people, by the way, is like 3 times the size of my HS graduating class. That helps me keep it in perspective.
A billion people in the world are living without clean water, which is ridiculous. Dirty/infected water is killing thousands of innocent children, every day. And we can change that.
100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.
Join me in supporting these people, who clearly are actually making a difference.
