For my 21st, I asked for water not beer, and raised $1900 for a well. I turn 25 this year and want to do it again.

Four years ago, I asked for water and not beer for my 21st birthday. With the help of the best people in the world, $1900 went to build a well in Ethiopia.

And now my birthday, April 12th, is only a few days away and I think it’s time to do it again.

I’m asking everyone I know to donate $25 (or more!) to charity: water and help give clean water to people who need it, instead of giving me gifts. There are a billion people in the world living without clean water, with thousands dying daily. But it doesn’t have to be like this!

A clean water solution can transform so many lives. Young girls won't have to walk hours each day to get dirty water for their families and be able to go to school. Mothers will be able to bathe their children without fear of disease. Entire schools can consistently provide students with clean water and education.

We can help change that. I know I have a lofty goal of $2500, but as I've learned last time we helped change the world, the generosity of the human heart is greater than any poverty I have ever seen.
