I'm turning 21 on April 12th.

And for my 21st Birthday, I'm asking for water, not beer.

Instead of buying me a drink, I'm asking for $21 (or more!) from everyone I know. It's not going to me, though. All of it is going to build freshwater wells for people in developing nations.

A billion people in the world are living without clean water. A billion! That's the equivalent of 10,000 UT Football stadiums full of people. Ten. Thousand.

Of those billion, 45,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won't, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.

My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts or drinks I don't need (I mean look at me! Haha.); it's to give clean and safe drinking water to some of the billion living without it. I want to make my 21st birthday matter this year. Please consider helping me on this journey with what you are able.

I realize $2100 is a lofty goal, and that many of us are college students, but the generosity human heart is greater than any poverty I have ever seen. With this in mind, I'm excited that you are my friend, that you are here and I am happy that you might join me.

please note: Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.

To learn more, visit www.charitywater.org.'

UPDATE 1 - It's April 12th, and I'm 21. $1204 has been donated to charity: water, with over 60 people being served! I am so happy and so blessed to know and meet so many incredibly generous people. It's so exciting!
Happy Birthday, James!
Thank you to Jennifer Callon, Fr. Mike, Dave Thies!
