goal
Over 600 million people in the world live without access to clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
Today I turn 21 and this year I don't want gifts, I want to bring clean water to people in need around the world.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink, but diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill MORE people every year than ALL forms of violence, including war.
So this year I'm doing something about it. I'm working with charity: water, an organization on a mission to bring clean and safe drinking water to every person on the planet and I'm asking for $35 or $350 from everyone I know, and every bit is a huge help!
Please donate to my 21st birthday campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Thank you all!
With love,
Emily
