I LOVE WATER.
OK, so I love coffee even more, but it takes water to make coffee-- so that makes me love water.
But ONE BILLION PEOPLE around the world are living with FILTHY WATER. Because of lack of access to pure water, diseases are spread rampantly. Currently the no. 1 cause of preventable death is due to lack of clean water.
But we can change that.
So this year, I'M GIVING UP MY BIRTHUATION (birthday + graduation).
Instead of asking for gifts, I'm asking for EVERYONE that I know to GIVE SOMETHING. Every dollar given is going directly to build freshwater wells for people in developing nations.
Whether you're one of my friends, a family member, a twitter follower, facebook friend or SMU colleague:
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
If each of my facebook friends give just $3.63, we can meet the $5,000 goal and build a well in a rural community. PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN. Every ONE of us can make a difference in ONE life.
Thanks friends for joining with me in this birthuation water adventure! I feel your love more than you know.
LOVE for everyone.
-Elizabeth
[[please note: Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.]]
Congrats and Happy BD
