Hey, today is my 36th birthday (June 19!). My mom and grandma were asking me what I wanted for my birthday and I told them that I really don't want or need anything and I'd rather just have them donate to charity.
I recently met Scott (founder of Charity Water) who told me about the "Give Up Your Birthday for Charity" idea. I thought that Charity Water would be a great cause to support. (watch the video to the right and you'll think the same)
All funds go directly towards projects that create freshwater wells for people in developing nations. A water project costs an average of $5,000 and can serve a community of 250 people.
So, let's give this a shot. I'm shooting to raise $36 from 140 people for a total of $5040 (just enough for one fresh-water well). Free free to give more, feel free to give less, but I figured $36 was a good starting point.
Thanks in advance for all the support!
Happy Birthday to a fellow Gemini. This is a great cause.
Happy B-Day! Great birthday idea - I might steal it.
Great idea!
Happy belated, drink and old fashioned for me
