Since my trip to Malawi, Africa in 2012, I had returned home remembering how precious water is to many around the world. The water I use every day (oftentimes excessively) to drink or wash my hands, shower, and so many other things isn't nearly as accessible to many around the world. It was that moment in Malawi that I remember most vividly today--- many villagers standing around the drill in anticipation as it was lowered with a chance to find water in the dry, arid land they call home. Waiting and thirsting. More waiting and more thirsting. After many unsuccessful attempts, water is found! Children run happily to their parents who are smiling from ear to ear. This water has become the source of life and health for four surrounding villages.

Sadly, it is just a memory for me as many days have passed and the convictions lost. But not all is lost today, I hope you will partner with charitywater and me for my birthday to help bring clean water to those that need it so desperately.

My goal is to raise $870 to help 30 people get access to clean water. If 29 other people donate $29 each, I can reach this goal. If you cannot, please remember those in need and keep them in your thoughts and prayers

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
