My 25th birthday is coming up and to mark the occasion I've decided to do some fundraising for charity:water's September campaign.

Approximately a billion people currently live without access to clean and safe drinking water. The associated health issues and hardships make it nearly impossible for these individuals to lift themselves out of poverty to lead healthy, productive lives.

While this is a massive problem, the good news is that we can do something to make a difference. Charity:water is an incredible non-profit organization that is working with partners across the world to build community-based water and sanitation projects. They're committed to ensuring a full 100% of the public's donations go to the cause. They also go to great lengths to communicate impact back to donors. For example, I recently received an email that a donation I made in 2009 helped fund a project for 588 people at Adikeberayo Elementary School in Ethiopia.

I'm especially excited to be a part of the September campaign to raise funds for a new drilling rig. Watch the attached video for more details.
