goal
I will bicycle across Route 66, the USA’s “Mother Road,” in approximately 60 days during the summer of 2016. The funds will be used to build a well that will provide fresh, clean water to those who don’t presently have access to it. The cost to build a well averages between $10,000 to $25,000 depending on the country. My goal is to raise $10,000, which will be delivered to charity: water.
Charity: water is an amazing charity that works to provide clean, fresh water to people who live in places without such access. Please click here to learn more about charity: water.
Since I’m a member of Adventure Cycling Association, I bought and will be following their amazing map of Route 66 that covers 2,448 miles from Santa Monica, CA to Chicago, IL. I will average about 50 miles a day – completing my journey in 57-60 days.
Beginning June 24th, I will be posting daily pictures, and weekly videos of my progress.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Camilla!
I heard your trip has hit a bit of a speed bump. I hope you're getting some rest and are able to get back on the road soon! 🚴
