I am turning 39 on April 30th which in and of itself is INSANE to me but instead of presents (and I DO LOVE PRESENTS!) I am once again giving up my birthday for charity: water. Because that -- as it turned out - was even better than presents!!

For those of you who were aware of my campaign last year, I will keep this brief. On the heels of my first trip with charity: water to Ethiopia, I launched my Birthday Campaign for my 38th Birthday in hopes of raising $38k in 3 months. I was nervous. I was afraid that was WAY too lofty of a goal and one I would fail horribly at and hang my head in shame. But much to my shock and surprise, we passed the goal in days and reached close to $58K in less than 2 weeks. So...now I am doing it all over again... My goal is $39K BUT I am competing with myself from last year SO if we make it to $100K, I am going to get the word "water" tattooed on my body. FACT, this will happen. TATTOO.

There are 800 million people without clean and safe drinking water in the world. So far, with the amazingness of charity: water they have already helped 3 million people. ONLY 797 MILLION more to go...and while that sounds impossible I have learned nothing is impossible when it comes to charity: water. And in two weeks I am going back to Ethiopia with charity: water and some of my closest friends and I cannot imagine anything better. Thanks for helping me with this and if there is a WATER tattoo in my future I owe it to you.
